Every exam begins on our digital auto-refractometer, which takes an objective baseline reading of your eyes' focusing power in seconds — removing the guesswork a purely manual exam can carry. From there, our optometrist refines that baseline on a phoropter, the instrument you look through as we ask "which is clearer, one or two?", dialling in your exact sphere, cylinder and axis rather than rounding to the nearest common power.

A prescription is only as good as the lens that carries it. Once your frame is chosen, our lab uses digital edging equipment to map its exact shape and curve, then cuts each lens so the optical centre lines up precisely with your pupillary distance and fitting height — the same measurements captured earlier in your exam. Get that alignment even slightly wrong and a correct prescription can still feel off; get it right, and the lens simply disappears into how you see.
